Man, 59, attempted to rape girl, 4

UDON THANI – A 59-year-old man has been charged with attempted rape of a four-year-old girl on two occasions after getting her father drunk, police said on Wednesday.

The victim's half-sister, aged 17, reported to police that the young girl told her she had been molested by her 59-year-old neighbour, Songsak Pimpakerd.

After consulting with the village chief, the 17-year-old took her sister to the police station. A medical examination showed that the girl's vagina was lacerated and infected.

    Sickening.! I only hope that he is locked up for a very long time not segregated, but put in with family men. I sincerely hope that he gets his full due. What despicable filth goes on in the mind of this sort of individual to conceive plan and execute foul deeds such as this. A blight on society that needs to be excised like the cancer that he is.

    We can only hope that this poor innocent little victim - who seems to have been failed by just about everyone in her pathetic little circle of so-called support - can make a full physical and emotional recovery in the days and years to come.

    But how can she have been so bitterly betrayed?
