In the latest embarrassing incident of bureaucratic incompetence on the part of the Interior Ministry, a man in Prachin Buri province has been issued with an identity card with the birth date of February 31, 1961, Spring News reported.

The man, Buarai Phaosaeng, from a village in tambon Nonsi in Prachin Buri's Kabin Buri district, showed his ID card with the wrong birth date to the media on Sunday.

The so called embarrassing incident of bureaucratic incompetence, is rampant in most developed countries as well.
Sure it is nothing less than an embaressment.
Nevertheless, this happens everywhere.

And of course, someone must try to make it political.

When I started at my university, the opening of the term had been moved forward because of the Asian Games. But they dated my contract from the official opening. As a result, I worked for a week and a half for free. Amazing Thailand.

If my math corrected, he was born in Jan.1960,got his first ID at 17(1977)&22(1982) and the third one that ran him in this news...when he was 27in 1990 his birth date on ID changed to Feb31,1961, experation date is Feb30'1922. If he has to renew his ID every 5 year the expiration date on this error card should be Feb30,1995(still error but double). He has been using error ID since 1995(28 years).Thanks for uncomplicated life of his, he didn't need to open bank account or need driver license because that could create more errors, He came out after 28 years of twiligt ID. very patient man and very idiotic public worker.What a good combination!

The fact that a mistake like this can be made should be noted by those anti-Abhisit posters...

Sukumpol's entire 'case' is based on the fact that a date on a copy document was incorrect - exactly like the above story.
Of course, his hand-picked committee of cronies accepted that as evidence of draft dodging... I wonder what a REAL court would have made of it.
