RBC reaches deals to mediate border spats

The Thai-Cambodian Regional Border Committee (RBC) has reached three agreements on preventing and solving border disputes peacefully and promoting a lasting peace between the two countries.

First Army commander Lt Gen Phaiboon Khumchaya and Cambodia's 5th Military Region commander Bun Seng yesterday presided over the conclusion of the RBC meeting at the 1st Army headquarters on Ratchadamnoen Avenue in Bangkok.

Lt Gen Phaiboon said the meeting discussed ways to resolve border conflicts, particularly the problem of farmers on both sides breaching border areas to illegally occupy land.
