Two agencies wrapping up fraud probes

Two agencies probing the police station construction project expect to wrap up their investigations next week.

Tarit: Investigating price collusion

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and the Royal Thai Police Office (RTPO) said their probes into allegations of irregularities in the 5.8-billion-baht project to construct 396 police stations nationwide are almost complete.

    The DSI is looking into whether politicians and high-level officials are involved in price collusion, Thanin Prempree, deputy chief of the DSI's Bureau of Special Crime 2, said.Former RTPO chief Pol Gen Priewpan Damapong and current national police chief Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew will not be called to give evidence as they managed the project under the cabinet's order, he said.

    Of course they won't be called.
