Former finance minister Somkid Jatusripitak has warned the public not to be fooled by the country's buoyant economic growth.

    Another major new factor, in teh future, is the USA's shale gas advantage. This is so huge and sudden that it is a geopolitical game changer, but sticking with Somkid's insightful comments it also means any Thai export that is energy intensive will become much less competitive irregardless of how undervalued labor costs are, notwithstanding how cheap the baht continues to be on a PPP basis.
