Two Liberian men were arrested in Bangkok for allegedly deceiving an Australian man into purchasing chemicals which they falsely claimed could turn special paper into banknotes, police said on Thursday.

Michael Merlyn Sebastian, 36, and Jesse Edward Fahnbulleh, 32, were apprehended at the Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom Hotel in Bang Rak district.

Police said black paper cut to the size of US dollar banknotes, a glass tube and a plastic bottle, both containing used substances, were seized as evidence.

Can we disown him? We don't want that sort of cretin dragging down the average national intelligence. Or was he just completely drunk the whole time?

Put him out of his misery?

The Nigerians are in the wrong, but is it any worse than playing a trick on a dumb animal? (A really dumb animal.)

That classic con is so old, but for some reason it keeps surfacing every generation, and someone still falls for it. This time it was chemicals, instead of a machine that you cranked the money out of.
