Agreed dom, the same applies to imprisoning drug couriers without addressing the underlying issues; when these are present there will always be more people willing to do the deed.

Indonesia seems to be doing a decent job with its counterterrorism efforts, but they also were willing to give substantial leeway to local demands, such as in Aceh.

    D1

What good will "wiping out" these people do, even suppose it could be arranged which I doubt, it will only serve as a recruiting tool for their replacements; the US have been wiping out terrorists for years but there never seems to be any shortage of replacements.

Forget anything PTP say about so called agreements to halt the violence in the south with any party or faction in Malaysia. It's all media propaganda issued by both sides for political gain, however they shall not even achieve this as they have so far gained nothing at all. Meanwhile as normal killing go on every day in the south of Thailand as usual.

Witnesses told police that the shooting happened when Mahamalayeng was returning home after praying at the mosque.

If these gutless terrorists kill their own 'muslim brothers' and seek the ultimate 'martyr' status with their their own death from their god then so be it. Time to wipe out these lunatics.
