DSI donation probe takes Democrat flak

City governor-elect Sukhumbhand Paribatra has slammed as misguided the Department of Special Investigation's (DSI) probe into Democrat Party donations under the Political Parties Act.

After hearing the charge against him from Pol Col Nirund Adulyasak, chief of the DSI's Bureau of Special Crime 1, MR Sukhumbhand on Thursday insisted he and 47 other Democrats involved, including party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, had not violated the law.

He said the DSI's charges were wrong and explained that every deduction from his pay was reported to the Election Commission (EC), which meant there was no possibility the donations were illegal.

If the army is not to be involved in politics, shouldn't the police not be involved as well? From what I can see the PTP is installing Thakin's buddies with a rank of pol gen in all top positions and state own enterprises.

Why do the red supporters always bring up the fact that the opposition did something wrong is a defence for their crimes. It has nothing to do with with the crimes the red shirts commit.

Maybe it is because the reds point to the Democrats' violations as justification for their own offences.

It’s all about brotherly love and birds of a feather, Pol Lt-Gen Taweesak wanted Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen as governor and things did not turn out to his liking.
The police should do what they are supposed to do, which is not much, and not get involved in elections. If the people of Bangkok wanted a member of one of the world’s most corrupt police forces as governor they would have voted for him.
