CHIANG MAI: South Korean Prime Minister Chung Hong-won said he was confident an investment company which attended the recent bidding for the government's 350-billion-baht water management scheme would be a successful bidder after meeting Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Sunday.

Speaking with Ms Yingluck on the sidelines of the second Asia-Pacific Water Summit in the northern province, Mr Chung assured that Korea Water Resources Corp (K-Water), one of the four bidders in the scheme, had the experience and readiness to manage the megaproject which is divided into 10 modules.

He said the company was ready to pass down its knowledge and technological know-how on disasters, floods and drought management to Thailand.
