PM's Office Minister Niwatthamrong Bunsongphaisa has defended Korea Water Resources Corp (K-Water), a bid winner in the water and flood management scheme, against accusations by a South Korean environmental activist.

Hyung Cheol-yum, manager of the Korea Federation for Environmental Movements, on Tuesday raised questions during his visit to Thailand about K-Water's ability to construct floodways and water retention facilities, two of nine modules under the state's 350-billion-baht scheme.

Mr Hyung's allegations involve the company's financial position and the environmental impact of projects it has completed previously in South Korea.
