Senator warns govt over attacks on Supa

A Senate committee has defended deputy permanent secretary for finance Supa Piyajitti, who testified that the government's rice-pledging scheme is rife with corruption. 

The panel also blasted the government for threatening officials after they disclosed details of the scheme to parliamentary committees, warning the government could face impeachment over the issue.

The Senate committee on economic, commercial and industrial affairs held a press conference at parliament yesterday.
