Water supply plan tipped to expand

The Environment Ministry is backing a project to help provide each tambon with one million cubic metres of water as part of a plan to provide remote communities with safe and sustainable water. 

Environment Minister Vichet Kasemthongsri said the "one-tambon-one-million-cubic-metre-water" project was proposed by the Department of Water Resources to ease water shortages in Northeast villages.

The minister said he would ask his advisory team to look into the possibility of expanding the project nationwide.
