Bangkok shutdown hammers tourism

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports said Friday the number of foreign tourist arrivals had already dropped by about 300,000 as a result of the anti-governent rallies, leading to an estimated revenue loss of 20 billion baht.

The number of tourists from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan had substantially decreased ahead of the Chinese New Year, from Jan 20 to Feb 1.
