The Democrat Party is slightly more popular than Pheu Thai in a survey by Bangkok University, or Bangkok Poll, which sees both parties very low in popularity rating.
The poll was conducted on Jan 17-18 on 1,216 people aged 18 and over throughout the country.
On popularity of political parties, the Democrat Party's rating is 17.5%, slightly over the Pheu Thai Party with 15.7% and Chartthaipattana Party with 1.9%. A majority of the respondents, 60%, were undecided.
Asked whether they will vote for Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha if they had the right to elect the prime minister, a majority of the respondents, 61.8%, said "yes"; 17.9% said "no"; and, the rest will abstain.
