Dems attack Chatt's dredging contracts

Ministry 'ignored auction rules, played favourites'

Deputy Interior Minister Chatt Kuldiloke has been accused by the opposition of improperly approving 26 canal-dredging projects which cost a total of 120 billion baht.

Thaworn Senneam, Democrat MP for Songkhla, mounted the claim during yesterday's censure debate.

Mr Thaworn said the bidding process for the flood prevention project may have violated the bidding collusion law.

Disc 2 - Nope it's not the law, it's fear of slander. If there were names given out without any proof of wrongdoing, which there is not, there would be a slander case in court the next day. If confident you are right then you shouldn't be afraid of a slander case as you have the proof in your hand. If not you hedge and accuse. The same as a reporter quoting a reliable source, which could be the gardener or street sweeper.

Disc1 - It isn't a lack of courage. It is Thai law.

Amazing, making accusations without having the courage to mention the names of people involved.
