Korkaew denied bail

The Criminal Court on Tuesday rejected a request for the release on bail of Pheu Thai MP Korkaew Pikulthong.

Mr Korkaew had his lawyer Jessada Chandee submit the bail request this morning, reasoning that he wanted to join the nation in giving His Majesty the King a birthday blessing on Wednesday and attending the garden party at Government House.

He also said as an MP he was scheduled to join the House committee on economic development in a study trip to Italy and other countries nearby between Dec 8-14.

The visit to Italy could be to see the other great corrupted leader, Berlusconi, to compare notes.

Hopefully, the Thai legal system will be reformed soon so to serve justice and the people, not just a tool to serve the judges and their selfish alliance as it has been for decades.

Korkaew gave to really flimsy reasons for wanting bail, the court gave a really reasonable one for denying. Sounds balanced to me.

Thank goodness logic has prevailed. I live in hope that one day laws will be passed that criminal MP's lose their status forever once convicted of any crime.

@ Android "hypocrisy" ?..... well this government certainly knows about that what is their catch phrase "do as I say but don't do as I do?". If it wasn't so sad it would be funny.

    Please Juttaporn next..........

Discussion 10 hypocrisy : as I had mentioned, colour is a considering factor in thai justice. Certain colour has a privilege in court while some other does not.

What I can't understand is that some M.P.s claim immunity from prosecution because they have parliamentarian privilege as they are elected/appointed M.P.s! take for example the slaying at a PTT service station last Xmas in Bangkok of a local politician, as I followed the story I seem to remember that the police were refused a search warrant by the judiciary to search the premises of the suspect (as was witnessed by several people in the precise location) I also remember that the person implicated, the a son of the local Influential Family is still a member in the present government! After all has Korkaew murdered any one? Can someone explain?

Well well. Maybe the red co leaders will now get the message that they cannot threaten the judiciary.

Get ready for the protests. Then get ready for the bail to be allowed. I have had so much hope in the justice system against PT since they came to power only to be sighing and shacking my head every time...Just wait and see. SOmething will happen and PT like the younger spoilt son will get their way.

Can anyone plausibly explain what this terrorist suspect could possibly learn on a tax payer funded trip to Italy? Red shirt fanboys, please enlighten us.
