NBTC member calls for Channel 11 probe

A member of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) is proposing the regulator investigates state-owned Channel 11 for airing a public address by ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Sunday.

NBTC commissioner Supinya Klangnarong said Tuesday the regulator has the authority to supervise programming, content and airtime leases.

Ms Supinya also asked if it is necessary for the Public Relations Department to own the frequency on which Channel 11 is broadcast.

See again dis 1,3 your playing with words. Television producers make sure that television shows run smoothly in all details, and take responsibility for everything. I guess I was not explicit enough for you. So lets preface producers with TV. And yes I am entitled to my opinion.

Dis 2: You mean the channel 11 was also the producer and organizer of the sporting event? To me, channel 11 reported and broadcast the sporting event that included the speech made by Thaksin among other matters. You are entitled to your opinion.

Dis 1 Playing with words. A state-owned TV station doing a sports coverage that contained a public address by a wanted person. TV shows are planned, timed, rehearsed, scripted. You think the producers did not know this was going to happen?

It was not a state-owned Channel 11 airing of a public address by Thaksin Shinawatra but a live reporting of a sporting event.
