Politically tinged drama taken off air

Channel 3's primetime soap opera "Nua Mek 2" has abruptly been taken off the air on Friday, citing "inappropriate" content, and many reckon that the ban is "politically motivated".

The storyline of Nua Mek 2 (Beyond the Clouds or Beyond Comparison) above the cloud (literal Thai translation), focuses on a corrupt politician keen on profiteering on a satellite launch and a sorcerer who performs black magic to manipulate politics.

The series, produced by Chatchai Plengpanich, who also acted as the sorcerer, and directed by Nonzee Nimibutr, was on air since Dec 14, and was cut short before airing its final episode on Friday night.

I've never heard of this show, but as a general strategy this already seems to have failed. After all, now thanks to this decision I have heard of the show. And now I'm curious to see it. Creating controversy is a means to creating demand. The creators of this show should produce a film-version now that the management of Channel 3 have ironically massive national demand through their clumsy handling of this situation.

So the man in Dubai is at it again ... his control of the PTP government is total, firm + transparent.

Whether or not this lakorn series is good or worth watching is not really the point, the issue here is the undemocratic undermining of freedom + democracy in Thailand ... all for the sake of one man who wants nothing more than to return to Thailand and run the country his way.

Whatever the facts of this decision the unintended outcome is a distraction away from the recent attacks on the Dem's, and just in time for the Governor Election.

With so many comments in agreement, might there be more than a little truth in the consensus?

Why did Channel 3 cave in to intimidation? Who threatened what exactly to maintain the veil of ignorance necessary to maintain the Thai public's state of blissful innocence that comes only from solidly unfounded and worthless opinion?

Horror or horrors, might the Thai people be looking for actual knowledge, open discussion of and informed opinion on matters that matter to them?

How about a soap opera how a criminal runs a country from remote by telling his little sister what to do?
I guess in most countries in this world it would not be shown because people would say that is completely unrealistic.
In Thailand it would not be shown for other reasons…

The end for madam PM is near. Welcome to the "real red-shirt democracy".
