Rames: Assault politically motivated

Democrat lawyer Rames Rattanachaweng, who was beaten up and seriously injured outside his Bangkok condomimium on Dec 17, believes the attack was certainly politically motivated.

Mr Rames is a party deputy spokesman and member of the opposition party's legal team.

He spoke to  news reporters on Thursday for the first time since the attack at Klang Hospital on Luang road after being questioned by police investigators led by Pol Col Traimet Uthai, deputy chief of Metropolitan Police Division 5.

Thailand is already a country for the red shirts. Other colors are now fading.

The red shirt defenders are so predictable in assailing every Democrat. I wish there were an ignore button on the BP. They could use it too. Then we would all only see what we agree with.

Is BP reporting correct here. He sounds like he is a saint - Mr Rames said he had never had a conflict with anyone. Of course a single can still commit adultery with a married woman. He should have report to the police when he received threatening calls. Anyway, it is now police case and let the police investigate. BTW, what is the progress on the case of a DEM MP murdered another person?

With 99,99 % certainty, the assailants will never be found.
The same as more then 2 years since May 2010 and not 1 of the "men in black" have been arrested. We can only congratulate the thai police for their good work for the red-shirt government.

"he believes the attack was certainly politically motivated". Enough for some people to "be sure" that the attack was and to give their usual specious conclusions. In april 2009, Sondhi was agressed by some gunmen, Who where the "gangsters inside the Gvt"?

Hunt down the perpetrators now as a matter of priority, and take appropriate action to set a real example so this sort of dangerous intimidation never occurs again. The criminal laws need to be seriously reviewed an overhauled to meet higher standards and they need to be applied. This is the result of having gangsters inside the government and also driving the government from outside Thailand.
