Democrats to file suit against Tarit

The Democrat Party's legal team has resolved to next week file a criminal suit against Department of Special Investigation chief Tarit Pengdit and three DSI investigators for having filed false murder charges against former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his former deputy Suthep Thaugsuban in their handling of the red-shirt protests in 2010.

Thavorn Senneam, an adviser of the legal team, said a lawsuit would be filed by Mr Abhisit and Mr Suthep, as the first and second plaintiffs, with the Criminal Court next week alleging violation of Articles 157, 200 and 209 of the Criminal Code.

A petition would not be filed with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) because the Democrats wanted the court to quickly consider and rule on the case, he said.

Disc 19 - 1:- The NACC has always been a political tool.

2:- Because the EC is still deliberating whether he will be disallowed in which case he would lose the term PM. If that happened they would have to refile charges.

3:- Remember the buck stops somewhere. He may not have personally murdered anyone but he sure didn't stop it as he had the power, thus he is complicit in the eyes of the law.

I think a lot of people is misunderstanding this issue.

    1. The people who are suppose to investigate the case is the NACC or in thai we say por por chor and not the DSI in the first place. The NACC is an organisation which cannot be influenced by politicians.
    2. The DSI had filed the case with the subject title Mr. Abhisit and not Prime minister Abhisit, Mr. Suthep and not Deputy premier Suthep. This neglects any duties Abhisit and Suthep had during the crackdown.
    3. Sueing with intention to murder? Why would he murder anyone?

How much more bias can this be.

Discussion 12/17 supermax/brilliant : you need to realize the fact that DSI is the law enforcement body of the government that is authorized by the constitution to investigate AV and Suthep the duo murderer suspects, not vice versa. .

supermax - as it took me awhile to learn - don't feed the toll.

This is like captured bank robbers suing the police for their arrest. I thought the courageous Abhisit and Suthep had announced loud and clear they would fight the murder charges. Now it appears that they are more willing and likely have a better chance of fighting the messenger.

Contatrian - LOL Hilarious. Did you live in Thailand while Thaksin was PM? If you had, you would have read her daily exploits of hi corruption.

Tarit has allowed himself to become a political tool. I guess PTP is the highest bidder at the moment.

Disc. #8 - "There was plenty of evidence against TS.".....especially when a coup needed to be legitimized. Really helps when the media is in the back pocket of the coup perps, and a demonization campaign needed to be launched.

Sorry Android, you are wrong. Thailand's still a democracy and not yet dictature. Abhisit and Suthep have the right to file suit against the trouble-maker Tarit. I don't see any obstruction. Until now DSI is not the JUSTICE. JUSTICE is belong to the Court....
