Groups of red shirts from all 17 northern provinces have announced a plan to gather in Bangkok on Sunday to commemorate the clashes between red shirts and security forces at the Ratchaprasong intersection three years ago.
Chiang Mai red-shirt president Pichit Tamool announced the plans in Uttaradit yesterday. The red shirts would travel in about 250 buses and in private cars to Bangkok for the event, he said.
He didn't specify how many people were expected to attend, but said every northern province would be represented. They plan to submit a petition to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to demand the culprits behind the 2010 political killings be brought to justice quicker, Pol Sen Sgt Maj Pichit said.
