Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will visit the northeastern provinces of Yasothon and Mukdahan on June 30 and July 1 for an official inspection of development projects, government deputy spokesman Chalitrat Chandarubeksa said.
Mr Chalitrat said the prime minister will make similar inspections in other provinces in July.
The prime minister's itinerary on June 30 and July 1 includes a visit to the border checkpoint at Ban Pong Na Noi in Mukdahan, a water pumping station powered by electricity in Muang district of Yasothon, and the improvement of an embankment in Kho Wang district of Yasothon.
Ms Yingluck will also follow up the development of the transport system ahead of the launch of the Asean Economic Community (AEC), projects to improve tourism potential, flood and drought prevention projects, and provincial development projects.
Ms Yingluck will also make a similar inspection trip to Nakhon Nayok and Prachin Buri on July 10, Maha Sarakham and Kalasin on July 14-15.
A mobile cabinet meeting will be held on July 18-19 in Ayutthaya province.
Mr Chalitrat said the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) has been assigned to draw up provincial development strategies.
