Army threatens to sue over love song

The army is threatening to sue the producers of a spoof music video featuring army commander Prayuth Chan-ocha and Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, deputy army spokesman Winthai Suwaree said on Thursday.

The video, uploaded on Youtube by "korkon astv", comprises photos of Gen Prayuth and Ms Yingluck attending various official engagements together accompanied by the love song "Song Rao" (both of us).

Col Winthai said the clip is disrespectful because it uses photos of the country's leader and army chief who work in the public's interest and suggests they are involved in some kind of affair.

"This action is not to honour both these people. The army demands those responsible for the video to take it down or face legal action," Col Winthai said.
