A haul of war weapons has been found in a canal close to the rented house of a man in Ayutthaya who had been summoned to report in to the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO).

The discovery was announced by Ayutthaya police commander Sermkid Sitthichaikarn and Lat Bua Luang district chief Sirichai Ampawa yesterday.
A police team, led by Police Region 1 acting commissioner Sriwara Rangsiphomkul, searched the house of Wattana Sapwichien in Moo 6 of tambon Khlong Praya Banlue in Lat Bua Luang district late on Sunday night, the officers said.
Mr Wattana has reported to the junta after being summoned on suspicion of possession of war weapons.
An M79 grenade launcher with 16 grenades, 17 hand grenades, an AK-47 assault rifle with 30 rounds of ammunition and four magazines of bullets and two bullet proof vests were found in an irrigation canal close to Mr Wattana's rental house.
Police believe the weapons could be linked to him and an investigation is under way.
Meanwhile, police said they are examining evidence and reviewing footage to look for the perpetrators behind the grenade blast at Rama IX Road on Friday night.
The explosion, which took place a few hours before the curfew was lifted, caused damage to two sedans and a nearby police kiosk but no one was injured.
The grenade was believed to have been hurled from a spot on Rama IX Road close to a nearby expressway.
Metropolitan Police Bureau deputy chief Thitirat Nonghanpitak yesterday said there is no clear footage on CCTV of who threw the grenade.
