The Bangkok Military Court yesterday issued warrants for the arrest of seven people who defied National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) summonses.
The court ordered the arrests, as requested by Crime Suppression Division police, after the seven refused to report to the junta.
They are Charupong Ruangsuwan, Jaran Ditapichai, Sanguan Pongmanee, Wisa Kanthap, Paijit Aksorn-narong, Pol Maj Sangiam Samranrat and Somsak Jeamteerasakul.
If they are found guilty, they face a jail term of up to two years and/or a fine not exceeding 40,000 baht. The warrants will expire in 10 years.
Meanwhile, the University Network for Thailand's Reform yesterday submitted a letter to NCPO head Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, calling on the military administration to summon ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra to report in.
The group also called on the junta to have Thaksin's passport revoked by the Foreign Ministry.
