''The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) under the leadership of army chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, and air force chief commander and the chairman on economic affairs ACM Prajin Juntong will soon restore stalled trade between Thailand and China,'' air force spokesman AVM Monthon Sutchukorn quoted him as saying.

Thailand remained the Southeast Asian hub for China, he added.

The Chinese envoy met with the deputy NCPO chairman to show his gratitude for ACM Prajin's visit to China last year.

Mr Ning showed confidence that Chinese investors will come back to Thailand in the near future after measures to ressurect the sagging economy due to the unrest were introduced, according to the spokesman.

ACM Prajin thanked the Chinese government for the importance it placed on Thailand and for understanding the situation which led to the decision by the army chief to seize power to end the unrest, he added.

Thailand is facing more pressure from the United States and the European Union to end the military regime.

Two weeks after the coup investors and bankers from China met with Gen Prayuth on June 6.

ACM Prajin assured the Chinese envoy that foreigners and investors from abroad will be protected to bolster their business confidence in Thailand.
