Ex-Ubon Ratchathani MP dies at 70

Tun Jintavej, a former MP for Ubon Ratchathani province, died of acute heart failure at Sappasitprasong Hospital in Muang district of Ubon Ratchathani province on Tuesday night. He was 70.

Funeral rites are being held at the office of Chartthaipattana Party in Det Udom district.

Tun was a former village headman and tambon chief in Det Udom district. He entered politics and was elected MP for the first time in 1983 under the banner of the Social Action Party.

After that he was elected many times to the House of Representatives for various parties. He moved to the Mahachon Party in 2003 and Chart Thai Party in 2007.

He was last elected under the Chartthaipattana Party banner in 2011, when he was the party's only MP in the Northeast.
