Russian hung by a shoestring

A 55-year-old Russian was found dead hanging by a shoestring. Dongtan-based police responded to the Dragon Beach Resort when staff reported having found the guest dead in his bathroom. Alexandre Ivanov had died about three hours earlier after making a loop over the shower with a black boot lace. There were several empty bottles of alcohol on the room’s balcony and no sign of foul play. The Russian had checked into the hotel with his wife, but there had been constant arguments and violence leading the wife to check out. A cleaning lady, Urai Phaokang, added that she tried to gain entry to the room several times before realizing something was wrong. Security staff gained admittance and found the deceased.
