All airports, bus terminals and train stations under the Transport Ministry remain at maximum security alert, Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said on Wednesday.
The heightened security measures were imposed throughout the country last year.
Mr Arkhom was asked about security in the wake of the suicide bombing and gun attack at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport early on Wednesday.
Whether security measures will be stepped up is a matter to be decided by security agencies and other departments, he said.
Mr Arkhom said airports in particular are under the watch of military and police officers -- both uniformed and plainclothed -- at all crucial spots, organised by joint intelligence operations.
"All units concerned have been instructed to strictly implement security measures and carefully check all information. Many agencies are involved, but cannot be disclosed for security reasons," he added.
