PM: Govt ready to lift ISA

The government is ready to lift the Internal Security Act (ISA) once security agencies give an assurance that the streets have completely returned to normal, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said before attending a House meeting for the censure debate on Sunday morning.

Ms Yingluck said security agencies were holding a meeting to assess the situation before reporting to the cabinet.

If they believe the situation has returned to normal, the government will then lift the ISA, she said, but did not mention an exact date.

By preventing people from peacefully demonstrating and by the use of unnecessary violence the Pheu Taksin party has proved iteself to be the undemocratic monolith that it is.

can you tell me only 1 place where people was blocked to demonstrate ?
no one was blocked to demonstrate, there are just security checkpoints, for the security, but in fact, no one was blocked. And the security checkpoints are ok under every government, the police can not allow to bring weapons inside the city. I hope you agree, if under PT or democrats government, security checkpoints are important.

The prime minister said she was pleased to see the quick end of the rally.

Does she really think in millions of households today people are saying - what a wonderful government

By blocking peoples right to demonstrate and using overwhelming force her brother has created a monster
