Ranger wounded in Yala explosion

One ranger was wounded by a bomb explosion in Yala's Yaha district on Friday morning while on patrol to provide security for teachers, police said.

The attack occurred at 8.25am.  Eight rangers from the 47th Rangers Regiment were on foot patrol along Yaha - Baro road in tambon Baro when a bomb hidden in roadside bush was detonated.

Odd Patcharakobchai, 25, the ranger, was seriously wounded in the right leg. He was admitted to Yaha Hospital.
