N.Korea launches ballistic missile sub

SEOUL - North Korea has launched a submarine that can fire ballistic missiles, a media report said Sunday.

Pyongyang "imported a Soviet-era Golf-class diesel submarine and modified it," a South Korean government source told the Yonhap News Agency.

The submarine dates from the late 1950s and was taken out of service in 1990.
