A helicopter from the 4th Army crashed in Muang district of Yala province on Sunday afternoon while on patrol to help people hit by floods, injuring four people including the two pilots, Lt Gen Prakarn Cholayuth, the 4th Army commander, said.

The incident occurred at about 1.30pm while the helicopter was flying in heavy rain.
Lt Gen Prakarn said the helicopter crashed at Ban Poye in tambon Lammai in Muang district of Yala.
The aircraft was damaged, but details are not yet known. The two pilots sufferred chest pains while two passengers were slightly injured.
Lt Gen Prakarn said he had reported the incident to Gen Udomdej Sitabutr, the deputy defence minister and army chief.
