Ratchanok Intanon once again beat Thai compatriot Busanan Ongbamrungphan to win the women's singles final in the SCG Thailand Open on Sunday.
The top seed in the US$120,000 tournament at Nimitbutr Gymnasium won the first set 21-18. Busanan, seeded fourth, came back to even the game with a 12-21 victory in the second. Ratchanok won the decider 21-16.
The two previously met in the 2013 final of the Grand Prix Gold tournament, when Ratchanon won the title.
In the women's doubles final, however, Thai shuttlers Chayanit Chaladchalam and Phataimas Muenwong could not produce an upset.
The unseeded Thai pair lost to Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu, seeded fifth in the event, in two sets at 12-21 apiece.
They stunned sixth seeds Du Ye and Xu Ya of China on Saturday in the semifinals, but were unable to claim another Thai victory in the final.
