WBC super-flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai is ready to fight anywhere in the world except Mexico, his manger Surachart Pisitwutthinan said on Monday.
The Thai knocked out Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez in the fourth round in Carson, California on Saturday to retain the title in his second straight win over the former champion.
Srisaket, 30, dethroned the former pound-for-pound king from Nicaragua at New York City's Madison Square Garden in March.
"We are ready to defend the title anywhere in the world but we will certainly not go to Mexico," Surachart said.
"We are afraid of the judging in Mexico where Srisaket once lost to [local fighter] Carlos Cuadras under dubious circumstances."
He said he would like Srisaket to defend the title in front of Thai fans but he has to discuss the matter with several parties as organising a boxing championship bout in Thailand is costly.
It is still unclear who will be Srisaket's next opponent, Surachart said.
Reports say Srisaket (44-4-1, 40KOs) could next fight WBO super-flyweight title-holder Naoya Inoue of Japan.
Highly-rated Inoue made his US debut on the same card with Srisaket on Saturday and scored a sixth-round technical knockout win over Antonio Nieves.
The 24-year-old Japanese has a perfect record of 14 wins (12KOs) after his sixth successful title defence.
The Thai champion, known in his country as Srisaket Nakornloung Promotion, said he was ready to fight any opponent.
"I have shown that I am the best 115-pound fighter in the world," he said after the win over Gonzalez.
"I am not scared of anyone."
Srisaket is scheduled to arrive at Suvarnabhumi airport at 11am on Tuesday.
He reportedly plans to marry Patchareewan Kanha, his girlfriend of 14 years.
