The Thai Premier League has given the green light for Si Sa Ket FC to change their name to Isan United and move to Ubon Ratchathani.
After a three-hour meeting between football authorities yesterday, TPL chairman Vichit Yamboonruang said the TPL had earlier approved Si Sa Ket's new name and their new home ground in Ubon Ratchathani and the TPL could not change the decision.
As for Wuachon United who want to use Tinsulanonda stadium in Songkhla as their home ground, Vichit said the TPL and the Football Association of Thailand had not yet approved the move so the club must play their home matches in Buri Ram in the first half of the new season.
Songkhla-based Wuachon United received the right to play in the TPL from Division One champions Buriram FC.
While the TPL and the FAT gave the green light to the takeover, they have refused to allow them to move the club's home to Songkhla.
Meanwhile, Insee Police United have been allowed to play their home games in Chon Buri because their home ground, Thammasat stadium, has been affected by last year's floods.
