J-League now on Thai TV

GMM Grammy Sport has signed a five-year deal to broadcast the Japanese J-League.

Grammy chairman Paiboon Damrongchaitham told a press conference yesterday that his firm purchased the J-League rights because "it's Asia's No.1 league and is more exciting than some European leagues."

J-League matches will be shown live on Grammy's satellite service.

The contract is the latest move by Grammy to increase its broadcasting power after recently winning the rights to show Euro 2012 and Germany's Bundesliga.

Park plays charity match

Manchester United's Park Ji Sung will feature in a friendly match at SCG stadium, Muang Thong Thani today.

The Asian Dream Cup 2012 encounter, which starts at 6pm, has been organised by the South Korean player's JS Foundation which aims to give young Thai footballers the chance to play against an international star.

Proceeds from the match will go to the foundation.
