Buakaw was much too strong for the Italian who was sent to the canvas twice in the third round of their bout at Bangkok Thonburi University to advance to the semi-finals.
Buakaw put an end to speculation of a clash with Filipino Manny Pacquiao by confirming that his only booked fights after yesterday's win are the Thai Fight semi-finals in Nakhon Ratchasima on Nov 25 and the final at Bangkok's Royal Plaza on Dec 16.
In yesterday's 67kg category, Singmanee Kaewsamrith, the other Thai in the tournament, beat Vatnikaj Valdrim of Belgium on points.
