Thailand would be a suitable host for the Superseries Finals and the World Championships, according to the Badminton World Federation president Poul-Erik Hoyer.

The Badmintion Association of Thailand (BAT) has expressed its interest in hosting the Superseries Finals in 2014 and 2015 and the World Championships 2017 and has now received a vote of confidence from Hoyer.
"Surely, Thailand has potential to make it happen," Hoyer told the Bangkok Post. "Thailand has lots of good players and sport fans."
However, Hoyer, who was elected as the president in May, said Thailand must first overcome bids from other countries interested in hosting the Superseries Finals.
"We are scheduled to decide the winner early next year," Hoyer said.
The Thailand Open is the only tournament in the BWF calendar and it is in the Grand Prix Gold category with only US$120,000 in prize money, while the Superseries Finals has a total purse of at least US$500,000.
Last November, Thailand bid to host the Superseries tournaments from 2014-17 but failed. Its latest attempt is being led by Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, who was named BAT's president earlier this year.
