Veteran Thaworn Wiratchant fired a final round 69 to win the three-million-baht Singha E-san Open in Khon Kaen yesterday.

With a three-stroke advantage after three rounds at the All Thailand Golf Tour's season-opening event, Thaworn yesterday made four birdies against one bogey to win the title on 18-under 270 at the par-72 Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club.

Four strokes behind in second place were Namchok Tantiphokakul (67), Piya Sawangarunporn (70) and Rattanon Wannasrichan (69). Thepbodin Amaranan (68) and Panuphol Pittayarat (70) shared fifth place on 275.

Yesterday's victory meant that Thaworn now won a title on the All Thailand Golf Tour every year since its establishment in 2007. Additionally, it was his third win at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club in seven months. In August, he won the All Thailand Championship at the venue and four months later triumphed at the King's Cup, also sanctioned by the Asian Tour.

Thaworn took home 435,000 baht from the tournament, which also served as the curtain raiser for the Asean PGA Tour.

Jazz Janewattananond made five birdies in a bogey-free round to finish eighth while Prayad Marksaeng was one stroke behind following his 70.

Defending champion Gunn Charoenkul slipped to 39th after struggling to a 73 with two birdies and three bogeys.

The next All Thailand Golf Tour tournament will be the three-million-baht Pattaya Open at Burapha Golf & Resort in Chon Buri on March 26-29.
