Ratchanok Intanon continued her impressive run of performances on Sunday with a two-set victory over Tai Tzu-ying to win the Superseries Premier Malaysia Open badminton tournament.
The feisty 21-year-old former world champion defeated the Taiwanese opponent 21-14, 21-15 and collected US$41,250 (1.44 million baht) for the victory, which came a week after she won the India Open in New Delhi.

Tai took the lead 6-2 before Ratchanok found her rhythm and came from behind to take the first set. The fourth-seeded Thai player took a comfortable lead in the second set at 20-11. The Taiwanese fought back by winning three consecutive points in a bid to keep the match alive before the in-form Thai wrapped up the game at 21-15.
Her next target is the Superseries Singapore Open, which starts on Tuesday.
Ratchanok moved to the final at Malawati stadium in Shah Alam near Kuala Lumpur on Sunday with confidence after defeating Wang Yihan of China for the first time in 13 attempts on Saturday on course to her Malaysia Open championship.
