All cargo trucks carrying hazardous substances must be marked with special warning signs from Jan 25, the Department of Land Transport says.
Wattana Patarachon, deputy director-general of the department, said the trucks would have to be marked with orange signs containing messages, pictures and symbols that indicate their hazardous cargoes.
The warnings are needed to alert rescue workers of possible danger in the event the vehicles are involved in accidents, he said.
