City expressway plan redrawn to go north

A planned 42.9-kilometre expressway linking western Bangkok to the east has been revived but will now be diverted to the city's north. 

These concrete pillars on Kaset-Navamin Road were built by the Expressway Authority of Thailand almost 15 years ago for the construction of part of an expressway, which is now likely to be scrapped. PATTARAPONG CHATPATTARASILL

The government yesterday pulled the plug on a light rail project which was originally proposed as a successor to the expressway.
