My spoof Democrat letter

I read with great interest the open letter submitted to Postbag on Jan 17 by Democrat Party MPs who were griping about how Thailand has ''become a police state'' under Prime Minister Yingluck and how the DSI charges against Mr Abhisit have been politically motivated.

This is my spoof on how the Democrat Party open letter would read if the authors had taken a ''truth'' serum and blurted out everything that was really on their minds:

Disc9:There is a misunderstanding.Probably my sarcasm was not understood! But I cann,t find the right words to express my disdain for this article.

Whether satirical or not, this letter achieved nothing but creating further discord.

Like all satire this letter is based on the truth. The development of democracy requires a strong government (PT are getting there slowly) and a strong and effective opposition (nowhere to be seen).

Believe Khun Songkran is using sarcasm and wit to express his desire for a stronger opposition and ultimately for us to have credible choices of representatives to vote for.

Your analysis of the thai dire politics is without peer.

Good going, Songkran, you really rattled their cages, some people are so impressed with themselves that they cannot recognize humor when they see it, great satirical letter!

Both sides have had their saying. No more on this subject, please.

Same ole story, Thailand and it's people are happy with being robbed so long as it is another thai doing the robbing. Now that's democracy thai style and xenophobia rolled into one.

Come on Bangkok Post. You are really scrapping the bottom of barrel now. Surely you have some sensible letters to print rather than this garbage.

I hope things return to normal tomorrow.
