Police arrested 264 criminal suspects and seized a large cache of firearms and ammunition and illegal drugs from Nov 12 to 20 in Pathum Thani province.
A press briefing was held by the Pathum Thani police on Tuesday to announce the results of the eight-day crime suppression operation.
Police said they arrested 213 drug suspects and seized 11,022 methamphetamine pills (also known as yaba), 34 grammes of crystal meth (ice) and 4,501 grammes of marijuana.
Fifty-one suspects were also charged with possession of illegal weapons. A large cache of firearms, explosives and 2,065 rounds of ammunition were confiscated.
The crime rate in Pathum Thani has been rising for several years and people are becoming very concerned about their safety, police said.
