Ex-senator wants censure rescheduled

Former senator Ruangkrai Leekijwattana has sent a letter to House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont proposing that the censure debate be rescheduled for security reasons.

He said the censure debate should start on Monday, Nov 26, instead of Sunday, Nov 25.

The debate is scheduled for Nov 25-27, followed by the vote on the censure motion on Nov 28.

Mr Ruangkrai said in the letter that the rally by the Pitak Siam group of Gen Boonlert "Seh Ai" Kaewprasit due to begin on Saturday, Nov 24, was likely to drag on to Sunday, Nov 25.

This could put some MPs, especially older members and women, in danger if the rally turned violent, he said.
