SAMUT PRAKAN - A 14-year-old girl claims she stabbed and killed a rapist after he refused to let her go and tried to rape her a second time.
Police received a report from a hospital at about 1.30am on Thursday that a man with a severe knife wound to his chest had been admitted earlier and subsequently succumbed to his injury.
The man was identified as Wichean Chankrachang, 43.
Police said they found an 8th grade student at Wichean’s house. She was on the bed next to a bloodied knife and the bed was covered in blood.
The girl told police that she was walking home in Phra Pradaeng district when Wichean and another man saw her, grabbed her and carried her off on their motorcycle.
They warned her not to call for help and put a knife to her back, the girl said.
She was taken to Wichean's home where the man forced himself upon her.
Wichean then called his friend (identified only as Jae) to pick her up and told her to get dressed. However, when his friend arrived the rapist changed his mind and refused to let her go.
The girl said she begged him to allow her to leave but he told his friend to wait outside and attempted to rape her again.
She said she tried to fight him off before she grabbed a knife on the bedstand and stabbed him. She said she could not see where the knife landed because the man had turned off the light and the room was dark.
Wichean called out to his friend to help and the two men attacked her. She said the stabbed man grabbed her by the throat, but then he collapsed and she managed to escape by running out of the house.
The other man took his injured friend on a motorcycle and rode off. The girl contacted her mother and the police.
Police said they looked into the background of the deceased and found that he had served several prison sentences on assault charges.
Police added they would wait for the girl’s medical examination results and the post mortem on Wichean before concluding their investigation.
