Korkaew's bail revoked

The Criminal Court on Friday revoked bail for Pheu Thai Party list MP and red shirt co-leader Korkaew Pikulthong for violating his bail conditions.

Mr Korkaew is one of six United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship who have been charged with terrorism. All were earlier released on bail.

Democrat MP Nipit Intarasombat filed the petition asking the court to withdraw bail. He said Mr Korkaew had threatened the court by saying if the judges ruled to suspend the deliberation of the charter amendment bills, the red-shirts would come out and fight "an eye for an eye". He had also tried to intimidate the charter court judges. This was a violation of his bail conditions.

The challenge to bail allowed to five other red-shirt leaders -- Deputy Commerce Minister Nattawut Saikuar, Weng Tojirakarn, Wiphuthalaeng Pattanaphumthai, Karun Hosakul and Pichet Sukjinda -- was dismissed by the Criminal court.

The court, however, added more conditions to their bail, banning them from speaking or taking part in political demonstrations and from leaving the country.
