Police at Chana Songkram police station said that the woman was named as Supee Janklang, from Prachin Buri province. She was charged with premeditated murder, hiding a body and concealing the cause of death.

The baby's corpse was found in a garbage bin near a temple on Jan 4.

According to Supee's testimony, she previously had a family and already had two sons.

She confessed that she liked to party and have fun, and had sexual intercourse with many men without using contraception.

The suspect said that she did not get prenatal care after knowing that she was pregnant and gave birth on her own in her room. She then cut the umblical cord and laid her baby face down because the baby was making loud noises.

The mother claimed that she then fainted and later found out that the baby had died. She then put the baby in a plastic bag and left it in a garbage can.

Police said Supee was arrested thanks to information provided by witnesses and closed circuit television cameras.
