Takanashi dedicates fourth win to father

Japanese ski jump teenage sensation Sara Takanashi extended her lead in the World Cup standings with her fourth win of the season here on Sunday.

Japanese Sara Takanashi competes on January 13, 2013 during the Women's Ski Jumping World Cup in Hinterzarten. Takanashi extended her lead in the World Cup standings with her fourth win of the season here on Sunday.

The 16-year-old, who has finished in the top three in seven of the eight events this term, beat main rival Sarah Hendrickson, who had won Saturday's competition.

Takanashi produced a brilliant effort of 105 metres in the second jump to secure victory.

She then dedicated victory to her father.

"It's a special day for me today because it's my father's birthday. I wanted to dedicate this win to him as a present", said Takanashi.

"Normally I'm not doing very well at the hill in Hinterzarten but I'm getting better and better and my second jump today was really good."

Halfway through the season, Takanashi holds a 169-point lead over Hendrickson ahead of what should be a warm welcome for her back in Japan in Sapporo on the weekend of February 2 and 3.
